It takes 40 minutes to drive from Reykjanesbær to the center of Reykjavík on the dual lane highway, Reykjanesbraut, which is well lit and always accessible.

Bus route 55 runs regularly to and from the capital region with a stop in Fjörður, Hafnarfjörður.

There is also a regular bus service between the municipalities of Reykjanesbær, Suðurnesjabær and Grindavík.

Further on, it is possible to reach Hafnarfjöður via Kleifarvatn, Seltún and Krýsuvík, three areas of astonishing geothermal interest.
